About RSE for Special Schools

Special schools serve pupils whose learning needs require RSE designed from the ground up — not a simplified version of a mainstream lesson, but provision built around the communication styles, sensory needs, and lived experience of students with profound and complex needs.

At Tailor Education, we have worked with special schools for years, developing an understanding of what RSE looks like when every pupil has an EHCP and most are working significantly below age-related expectations. Our sessions use multi-sensory teaching methods, draw on close collaboration with your SENCO and class teams, and are planned carefully in advance so content is pitched right for every individual.

We cover the topics that matter most for special school pupils: body awareness, personal safety, healthy relationships, and puberty — handled with specialist expertise and real care. Every session is built around your cohort, not slotted in from a generic pack.
